The Coffee Officina is a small-batch coffee roasting company with a mission to introduce a broader audience to an extensive range of atypical flavours while championing ethical sourcing.

The identity captures the two qualities of the business: the scientific rigour involved in the roasting process and the imaginative approach to achieving new flavours. The concept of ‘order meets creativity’ manifests through stark, unadorned typography and simple materials set against an unexpectedly vibrant colour palette. The bold palette of colours enabled the brand to stand out in a market dominated by coffee branding clichés.

Continuing the theme of simplicity and functionality, our novel flavour profile system uses five dot sizes to indicate the relative intensity of the prominent flavours. The identity extends across product packaging and the e-commerce website.
