Behind the Screens, BAFTA

A behind-the-scenes view of an institution

Behind the Screens was the first exhibition held at BAFTA’s temporary members bar on Piccadilly. (Relocated due to renovation, the bar was opened to the public for the first time.) The exhibition showcased the creativity and talent of BAFTA winners and nominees, featuring handcrafted models, scripts, soundtracks, and costumes.

Working alongside Lyn Atelier, we developed the spatial graphics for the exhibition and an identity for the new bar itself. For the environmental aspects, we paid homage to the visual language of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ concept with exposed structural elements and raw timber. For the identity, which spanned across signage, packaging and menus, we created a bespoke stencil version of BAFTA’s ‘Wilford’ typeface. The bright blue-green colourway is a vivid contrast to the material palette.
